Cosmetic Laser Therapies

Cosmetic laser therapy is a safe way to treat various cosmetic skin concerns and uncomfortable skin conditions. Most commonly, lasers are used to resurface and smooth skin to reduce the appearance of veins, lesions, and other skin conditions patients prefer to reduce or minimize. There is minimal discomfort during most laser procedures, as topical aesthetic is applied.

After the procedure, your skin will be red, like a sunburn. The redness continues for a few days. In most cases, you may resume applying makeup after about three days. By day three or four, you will experience some peeling as your fresher skin appears. In most cases, your skin will return to its normal appearance after 7 to 10 days. Some may experience swelling and/or crusting of the skin.

We utilize the following laser therapies at South Shore Skin Center:

  • LightSheer and Diode: used for laser hair removal
  • GYAG: used to gently firm and smooth the skin
  • Lumenis IPL and ResurFX: used for skin resurfacing
  • eTwo Sublime: used for skin tightening and facial rejuvenation
  • Clear + Brilliant: used to reduce the visible signs of aging
  • VBeam Perfecta: used for visible vein and birthmark reduction
