Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the world. In the U.S. alone, 1 million Americans will be diagnosed with skin cancer this year, according to the CDC.

Fair skinned people are more prone to developing skin cancers, however, anyone can be affected.
Skin cancer is most commonly caused by exposure to sunlight, or artificial UV radiation. Therefore, it is highly preventable.
Some of the preventative measures you can take are:
- Wear sunscreens with a minimum of SPF 30 that protects against UVA and UVB rays
- Avoid exposure to midday sun
- Wear protective clothing including a hat
- Wear sunglasses to protect the eyes
- Avoid tanning and tanning booths
